CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu cabinet led by chief minister M K Stalin on Saturday met and gave approvals to financial incentive packages for six industrial projects that will come up across the state.

The meeting lasted over an hour at the Secretariat. “In addition to these projects, memoranda of understanding will be signed for projects worth more than ₹20,000 crore in the presence of the CM during his visit to Coimbatore on Tuesday,” a source said. Stalin will be on a two-day visit to Coimbatore, starting Monday, as part of the DMK’s outreach programme in the western belt ahead of elections to the urban local bodies. Stalin is said to be keen on taking the MoU ceremony out of Chennai to other parts of the state, especially Coimbatore, given the potential for industrial growth in the region.
