Adani Group’s Endeavors in the Defence Sector

Adani Defence, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, showcased its Drishti 10 Starliner unmanned aerial vehicle, presented to the Indian Navy and inaugurated by Navy chief Admiral R Hari Kumar. This advanced UAV signifies a crucial stride toward strategic autonomy, showcasing indigenous technological prowess in high-endurance, combat-proven aerial systems.

As part of its commitment to bolster India’s defence manufacturing capabilities and drive self-reliance in the sector, Adani Defence has established the country’s premier unmanned aerial vehicles and small arms manufacturing units.

Currently, the firm is in the process of establishing a comprehensive aircraft maintenance facility, ensuring adherence to international safety and airworthiness standards.

Here’s an overview of Adani Group’s contributions in the defence sector:

UAVs:

The Drishti 10 Starliner UAV unveiled is a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) type. The company’s portfolio includes other combat-proven medium-range unmanned aircraft systems.

Their offerings also comprise tactical loitering munitions capable of identifying and striking designated targets, tactical mini UAVs, and multi-rotor low-altitude UAVs equipped with vertical take-off and landing capabilities.

SMGs, LMGs, and Sniper Rifles:

Adani Group’s products feature light machine guns (LMGs), uniquely equipped with a semi-automatic mode, along with assault rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, and submachine guns.

Counter Drone Systems:

The company provides counter drone systems designed for quick installation and easy operation in both auto and manual modes. These systems offer multi-layer detection capabilities and operate day and night across various environments—urban, semi-urban, and rural.

Their radars offer complete 360-degree coverage, detecting over 100 targets simultaneously. Additionally, their jamming systems cover all operating bands and can neutralize drone swarms, as claimed by the company.

Aircraft Maintenance:

Adani Defence aims to be a comprehensive fleet maintenance hub for civil and defence aircraft, offering Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services for engines, painting, and electrical and mechanical components.

Leveraging their network of airports, the company plans to provide line and base maintenance services in major cities for aircraft, both civil and defence.
