Congress to Claim Manohar Parrikar has Filed, Plays Goa ‘Minister’ Tape
Goa’s Health Minister, Vishwajit Rane called the claims imposed on him to be the work of ‘conspiracy’. This happened when his conversation was played on tape in which he is said to be telling that all the files on Rafale are in his bedroom. The minister further in his defense said that he is being framed and used a pawn by the opposition party. He also said that the party simply wanted to ‘sensationalize Rafale’
The tap conversation that was released at a press conference by the Congress was referred to it in Lok Sabha by the Congress President, Rahul Gandhi. The audio clip had Minister Rane’s voice which said, “There was a three-hour Cabinet meeting. The CM makes one very interesting statement. That I have all the information on Rafale in my bedroom, which you should actually make a story and actually you can cross check with somebody whom you are close to within the Cabinet. That means he is holding them to ransom. He said it’s in my bedroom, here only in the flat. Each and every document of Rafale is with me. Now whether he wanted somebody to go and to inform them in Delhi or what exactly, I didn’t understand.”
The minister, however, claims that it was not him in the conversation and he also said that tape was tampered with to direct and focus the attack on him.
